thank you everyone who had comments about AREA. the questions about the relationship between e10 and AREA are important ones. i have thought about that relationship, and how the two can work together. i don't really know the answer to those questions. in many ways, i don't see the difference between e10 and AREA - they are just different names for similar ideas. AREA is planned for this summer (contingent upon enrollment) and i will be mailing posters to 450 schools of architecture and finishing a new web site by mid-January. i would like to hear your ideas about what the program can do in one month that could facilitate future activities at the site. the students this summer will not live on site, but perhaps create a future place for exhibition, residency or experimentation.
